Voting could/can only be done once using the online voting platform. Nominees have however been resourceful as they have been sharing the link with friends and fans on social media, who have been voting generously. As promised, below are the SMS voting codes.       Esther Akothe. Pwani Celebrity Awards 2015 Female Artist of The Year Nominee.

 To many of us, apart from releasing melodious sounds on our airwaves, Akothee is known for her flashy lifestyle. Some say that comes by default, given the great tribe she comes from.
Akothee would fit the perfect definition of from grass to grace, given her past and how she took the challenges she faced as stepping stones to the greatness we see today. For all we know, Akothee was once a taxi driver, despite that being a male-dominated job market. Through this job, she found her first financial breakthrough after acquiring her own van which saw the birth of Akothee Tours & Safaris.
She describes herself as an impossible woman who does the impossible, and we couldn't agree more. In her early stages of life, Akothee had never really known what it felt like to be smiled at by lady luck. The sassy singer once worked as a house help, sold omena and did many other unimaginable kind of jobs to earn a living.
However, aside from her hustles, music remained to be her first passion, which she followed dearly. At times, she would perform for free at Mombasa Go Karting events, because that's how far she was willing to go for her talent.
Fast forward, Akothee is one of the high-riding female artists along the Coastal region and has been nominated for the Female Artist of The Year category in this year's Pwani Celebrity Awards.
Congratulations are in order to her for a job well done.

STAR PROFILE: MC FORTUNE

Very little is known about him, but to his fans, he is MC Fortune. He portrays the persona of a cool, calm and collected individual.
He is probably one of the people to watch in the ever growing showbiz industry, not only as an mcee but also as an entertainer. MC Fortune has been fortunate enough to have been affiliated with quite a number of high profile events, taking him to as far as Machakos County.
Despite all the attention he's been attracting lately, Fortune chooses to stay humble and if he's not on a stage livening a crowd, he is probably spending time with the less fortunate members of society, giving them hope for a better tomorrow.
MC Fortune just got nominated for two (2) categories in this year's Pwani Celebrity Awards; in the MC of The Year Category and Gospel MC of The Year.
Congratulations are in order to him and may he keep doing what he does.

AND THE NOMINEES ARE...

 PCA2015 nomination gala to be held on Saturday, August 29th, 2015 at Bliss Resort. Mark your calendars.

Excitement, nervousness, panic, hope… these are just some of the adjectives we can use right now to describe the emotions of the Stakeholders of the Entertainment Industry in Mombasa.  This comes at a time when we are less than a fortnight away to the nomination gala of a show that promises to give a whole new definition to the events' world.

It has been an eventful period for our dedicated team of staff, from July 31, 2015 when we officially closed the nomination window, as they have been working round the clock compiling your nomination entries which you sent generously, hitting a record of 213052. This ran concurrently with the day’s (Saturday, August 29^th, 2015) planning of how the show will be and also working to meet your expectations. At this stage, the genius team can proudly confirm that it is done with 95% of the planning, and that remaining 5% shall have been completed by Saturday, (August 22^nd, 2015). Kudos to them! Multi-tasking isn’t for the faint at heart.

In our bid to seek perfection, there are some reactions that we have been getting from people we least expected. You see, the main reason why we chose to have the general public nominate who they think fit was because we believe your fans know you better than us, and therefore it is up to them to decide whether you deserve to be the next big thing (read celeb). Also, and most importantly, we wanted the whole process to be fair to all and as transparent as possible. Therefore, common sense would dictate that anyone who desired to be nominated would have gone back to beseech their fans to return the favor by nominating them. However, this wasn’t the case with most of the established artists for they thought they would sound desperate asking to be nominated, and the aftermath, our email is flooded with the same individuals who never hustled for the nomination entries asking to be somehow fixed in the list. It is however so unfortunate to them for this show is being organized with a brilliant team of professionals, who wouldn’t do anything apart from what is right. On the time of writing, this blogger here had the nomination list before him. His comment; *grabs popcorn*

Saturday, August 29^th, 2015, will be a day of weeping and gnashing of teeth for those very hardworking individuals who happen to be quite familiar with the saying ‘use what you have to get what you want.’ You know them? We do-in the broadest of terms. Ladies sending obscene photos; some with heavily painted make-ups on; others in heels higher than their morals… (I could go on, but I choose not to boast) to our members of staff, all these they do for we know they seek something in return. Woe unto you, for no amount of compliments or Oscar Awards you’ve received because of how raunchy you can get will be there to save you. If you happen to be around, find some time and join us at Bliss Resort, Nyali, just next to the SOS Villa and get to watch the drama unfold. Entrance is free by the way. Gates open at 6:00PM.

In conclusion, our esteemed fans, Pwani Celebrity Awards would like you to be well advised that the much anticipated nomination gala is just a few days away, so stay ready. Also, the nomination list has already been compiled and there’s nothing more we can do about it. No amount of money or prayers will be able to alter the list, so we advise you to keep calm and wait for the day. Or, better yet, go shopping, hit the gym, swim, drink lots of water, think happy thoughts. These activities will help you stay healthy and look good for that day. But if you find them too engaging, you can just sit back and relax, watch your nails grow as you wait for our next blog post.

Only Five Days Left!

The ride has been enjoyable. You have been nominating your favorites in categories which you think fit for them. You have flooded the email with almost a hundred thousand messages recommending the creme de la'creme of the industry to be feted. Now, with only five days away to the deadline, do you know what is to come next? Remember, we are not just having this show for the sake of it, we have a purpose to fulfill. And to reach there, we need a blueprint. To this far, we have been on the right track towards achieving our common goal. The purpose of this post is to guide you in the steps to follow for we still have a long way to go (together).

It is not news to anyone that this show remains to be among the very few that have stood the test of time. We take pride in acknowledging our predecessors. We also take pride in acknowledging those who are to come after us, but most importantly, we take pride in this shows' endurance over the three years that we have been in existence in this rough, rugged and raw industry, always doing our best to stick to our ambition of creating better tomorrows for the entertainment stakeholders of not only Mombasa, but the entire Coastal region- from the mighty beaches of Malindi to the forgotten sounds from Kwale, tuko pamoja.

One of the things that we would like to categorically point out, from an observer's standpoint, is the lack of unity and how we as Pwani Celebrity Awards, in our own small way try to find a solution for this. For sure, a divided house has cannot stand on its own; that is why we have been seeing great talents leaving our shores to fend greener pastures in other regions which really are nothing compared to what we can achieve with our combined efforts. As Pwani Celebrity Awards, it is in our plans that after this nomination, all the successful nominees be having exchange sessions in which Artist A gets to share with the rest their story; their up and down moments of their journey to the top, for we believe that through this; through knowing what it is to cry when the going gets tough and to smile when all is smooth sailing through someone's lens, bonds are formed; bonds that will tie these individuals together as they journey towards a brighter future. In this sessions too, the nominees will be taken through training on what it takes to be in the industry. This will be a great advantage to all the upcoming nominees who still need to learn and grow.

During our regional tours, admiringly termed #PCAmashinani, one question that really stood out in almost all the regions is whether there is something more to these year's awards other than just beautifully sculptured pieces of rock (vinyago, as they termed it). We can affirm that this year's show is going to be one of its kind. As organizers, we value your art; be it music, poetry, modelling, dance, deejaying, photography, blogging... your art is priceless. That we know. No amount of money, silver or gold can ever buy your passion. The only thing we can do as society is to appreciate what you have to offer. And how are we doing this? After the awards, we plan on making you a better version of yourself in more ways than you can ever imagine. We have the resources, we have the capacity and we have the time. All we need is for you to trust us (and win). For a start, we plan on having free professional photography for ALL successful nominees for their portfolios. Remember, your life changes once you get associated with Pwani Celebrity Awards.

In our bid to transforming the Coastal Entertainment Industry, it has been really hard to underscore the fact that stakeholders may lack professionalism, making us loose obvious opportunities. As stated herein, we intend to transform the industry in our own small way; one mindset at a time. Given that we are in the age of Social Media, it is clear to us as it is to any other person that the internet is the new market place for our generation. We buy and sell our services through it. Question is, how do you relate to your (potential) clients? Our team of Social Media Consultants will be doing free online profiling for all successful nominees, guiding them and very importantly, enlightening them on selling ways. This we believe will help restore the long forgotten image of success we once had.
